Accused of killing his daughter and mother
Comments 0 | Recommend 0BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A man accused of killing his daughter and mother will face a Calhoun County judge Friday.
Johan Vanniekerk is charged with two counts of murder and one count of child abuse.
Prosecutors say he used an overdose of medication to kill his mother and 3-year-old daughter.
It happened at the Comfort Inn in Marshall back in May.
Police say Vanniekerk went to the hotel after assaulting his estranged wife at an apartment the couple once shared in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Friday's hearing is to determine whether there's enough evidence to send Vanniekerk to trial.
