Taxes may go up to pay for deputy
OSTHEMO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Taxes could be going up for some folks in Oshtemo to help put another deputy on the roads.
The township board of trustees is holding a public hearing Monday night to discuss the plan.
It would cost the owner of a $200,000 home about $50 a year.
Township leaders say the added patrols are necessary since the current number of deputies can only handle 60-percent of the calls.
Monday night's meeting is at seven o'clock.
