County employee admits to stealing diesel

HASTINGS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Hastings police are investigating a gas theft at the Barry County Transit Garage.
Officers say a county employee siphoned 90 gallons of diesel from six retired buses. They were in the garage waiting to be sold.
The employee admitted he stole the fuel and stored it in a tank at his house.
Officers asked the prosecutor to authorize a larceny charge.
