Autopsy scheduled in burned body investigation

ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Investigators hope an autopsy will shed new light on a mysterious death in Allegan County Monday.

On Saturday someone spotted a burned out car and a burned body not far away.

It was on 74th Street just north of South Haven.

Deputies are still working to identify the victim and figure out how he or she died.

"Hopefully it was just a tragic accident and nothing else - in this quiet neighborhood," said neighbor Arlene Campbell.

"We've interviewed several of the homeowners and there is nothing suspicious at this time," said Lt. Scott Matice of the Allegan County Sheriff's Office.

If you have any information you're asked to call the Allegan County Sheriff's Department.
