Man dies in police custody after multiple Tazings

EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A man has died in police custody after being Tazered multiple times.

 

Officers responded to a domestic disturbance call on Heather Street around 9:00 Monday night. When they got there police say Matthew Bolick assaulted a public safety officer.

 

That officer Tazed him but Bolick took off into the house. After a struggle and several more Tazings, officers finally took him into custody.

 

Shortly after his arrest Bolick died.

 

An autopsy is planned for Tuesday to figure out exactly what caused his death.
