Allegan named wind energy resource zone

ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A new announcement from the state could help bring more wind energy to the lake shore.
The Michigan Public Service Commission designated parts of Allegan County as a "primary wind energy resource zone."
It's one of only two in the state. The other is up near Saginaw.
This could help speed up wind turbine development in Allegan County as the state pushes for more alternative energy.
