Five Kids involved in a 2 Car Accident
VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A teen swerves to avoid an accident and causes another.
The Van Buren County Sheriff's Department says it happened at the intersection of M-43 and CR 653 South around 4p.m. Saturday.
Investigators believe Tyler Geipel drove into oncoming traffic to avoid a vehicle that had slammed on its breaks in front of him.
Craig Wilder tried to avoid hitting the 18-year-old's Oldsmobile Bravada but hitting the back passenger side of the vehicle. The Bravada hit the shoulder of the road and flipped three times.
A passing doctor and nurse pulled Geipel to safety. The two began medical treatment. He was then transported to the hospital for concern of head and neck injuries. Geipel was wearing his seat belt.
No one in the Wilder's GMC Suburban, including five children, were injured.
Police have not issued anyone a citation at this time and they don't believe alcohol was a factor in this accident.
