Updated: Bank robbed in downtown Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Police responded to a call for a bank robbery Friday morning.

Officers received the call around 9:30. The report said that two people had entered the Chase Bank on 141 E. Michigan and demanded money. One of the suspects had a black handgun, fortunately no one was injured.

The suspects left the bank with an unknown amount of cash and are still at large. Police say they should be considered armed and dangerous.

The suspects are described as two males, one approximately 5'7", wearing jeans, dark sunglasses and a gray t-shirt under a black hooded sweatshirt, he wore a red bandanna on his face during the robbery. The other suspect is described as approximately 6' or slightly taller and was wearing a light gray baggy sweatpants and a white t-shirt under a black hooded sweatshirt.

Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 269-337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100.
