Battle Creek Police arrested man for kidnapping and domestic assault
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Battle Creek Police Department arrested a man for kidnapping and domestic assault on Saturday evening. Police officers were sent to Eagle St. around 6:40 p.m. to investigate a report of a woman being assaulted and kept against her will at a residence.
Officers were met at the door by the female resident who had been assaulted. Police say she was afraid to cooperate and tried to send officers away as her husband whom had assaulted her was at the top of the stairs inside the residence with the their two small kids. Officers were able to gain her confidence and enter the home. Then the husband jumped out of a two story window. After foot chase, officers were able to take the suspect in custody.
The suspect was arrested on several charges including three counts of kidnapping, domestic assault, resisting and obstructing a police officer, and threatening to burn a occupied dwelling.
