BRANCH COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The FAA is trying to figure out what forced a pilot to make an emergency landing in Branch County.

The small plane took out power and cable lines when it went down in a field near Sprague Road Monday.

Investigators say the pilot told air traffic controllers the engine just quit.

He tried to land at the nearest airport but couldn't make it there.

Emergency crews say the pilot didn't suffer any serious injuries.
