South Haven - Haunted House Fundraiser for Burn Victims: 6 p.m. start time, $3 for kids; $5 for adults. All money goes to a burn camp for burn victims.

Plainfield Township - Halloween Safety Awareness Event: Festivites start at 5:30 p.m. at the Fire Station at 6145 Belmont Ave. in downtown Belmont. Free hot dogs and treats while getting tours of the fire station and trucks along with safety tips.

Kalamazoo - Costumes for Kids: Safe Halloween. Starts at 11 a.m. at the Arcadia Creek Festival Site. Safe trick or treating activites for families. Costumes are provided for those who cannot purchase one.

Portage - Trunk or Treat at Portage: a safe event for all children. This years theme is "Great Outdoor Adventure." Expect games, crafts and decorations. Starts t 6:30 at the church, 1715 W Centre Ave, Portage MI 49024

Muskegon - Moderncine's Scarefest 2009. As day-long experience showcasing the Moderncine films. The event highlights local filmmaking with a scary twist. The Harbor Theater, 1937 Lakeshore Drive. Standard ticket and concession prices apply.
