Deputy recovering after cruiser hit by car
GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - An Ottawa Co. Sheriff's Deputy is recovering after his cruiser was hit by another car early Friday morning.
It happened around 1:30 a.m. in the intersection of 44th St. and 8th Ave. in Georgetown Township.
Police say that a car driven by 31-year-old Jamey House of Acme, PA was headed northbound on 8th Ave. when she ran through a blinking red light, running into a deputy's cruiser, which was headed eastbound on 44th Street.
That deputy was taken to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, and treated for minor injuries.
House was also taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries at Spectrum. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
