Reporter Carolyn Wyllie joined NEWSCHANNEL 3 in February of 2000. Since then she has built strong ties in the West Michigan community.
Since joining NEWSCHANNEL 3, Carolyn has covered a wide variety of stories from every corner of our West Michigan viewing area. She also has taken on special assignments ranging from Gubernatorial Elections, to coverage of Super Bowl XL in Detroit, to reporting from the 2009 Presidential Inauguration in Washington D.C. She has won numerous awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and the Associated Press.
A native of Port Huron, Carolyn has spent her life in the Great Lakes State, and became familiar with West Michigan while serving as the nightside Assignment Editor for three years at WOOD-TV (NBC), Grand Rapids. Carolyn also worked for four years as a reporter in Lansing at WLNS-TV (CBS). She spent her first year there doing live feature reporting for the morning news before moving into covering the crimes and court beat. When Carolyn joined Newschannel 3, she reported from the Battle Creek Newsroom for nearly two years, before moving to the Kalamazoo Newsroom.
Carolyn graduated with a double major from Central Michigan University. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science.
