Woman Hit and Killed in Golf Cart

PLAINFIELD, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A woman was killed while crossing the road in her golf cart Saturday.
The Kent County Sheriff's Department says it happened around 4:30 p.m. Saturday on Lincoln Lake Ave. north of Mepherson in Vergennes Twp.
Ruth Sarniak, 80, of Lowellwas crossing Lincoln Lake when the golf cart she was driving was struck by a south bound vehicle.
Mrs. Sarniak was pronounced dead at the scene. The 48-year-old Greenville man driving the vehicle was not injured.
Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in this accident. Police continue their investigation.
