Fatal fire
Comments 0 | Recommend 0CASS COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Cass County Sheriff's Department is reporting that a fire broke out in Pokagon Township on Monday, causing the death of one resident.
Officials say the fire started at around 4:00 Monday evening on M-51. Family members had returned home and found their residence on fire. They were unable to enter the home due to the heat and flames.
Frances Anderson, a 93-year-old Dowagiac resident, was alone in the residence at the time of the fire and unable to get out.
The fire remains under investigation.
