Cooking products make recall list

August 8, 2008 - 8:11 AM

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Some dangerous cooking products have hit the recall list Friday morning.

A company called Atico says its blenders turn on without warning.

So far 14 people reported getting cut while trying to attach the cup to the base of the blender and 11 of them needed medical treatment and stitches.

The products involved are Signature Gourmet and Crofton personal blenders. They were sold at Walgreens and Aldi stores over the last two years.

Lowe's has recalled 24,000 gas grills because of fire hazards.

The company says cooking chambers on the Perfect Flame brand of grills can melt and catch fire. 175 customers already reported fires and another 25 said their grills melted. No one was hurt in any of those incidents.

Lowe's sold the grills from October 2007 to last month.
