Woman trapped in cornfield by storm
KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A Kalamazoo County woman is safe after spending the weekend out in the elements stranded in a cornfield.
The woman's family reported her missing Sunday night. They hadn't seen her since Friday.
Deputies say around the same time she disappeared someone spotted a suspicious vehicle in a cornfield off O N Avenue.
Search crews went out there Sunday night and after two hours found the woman.
She says her car got stuck and she tried to walk for help, but fell and couldn't get up.
She spent the weekend in the rain, pulling down cornstalks to lay on and eating candy she had in her pocket.
Monday morning she's in the hospital in stable condition.
