FEMA to discuss flood risks in Ottawa County
OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Representatives from FEMA will be in Ottawa County Tuesday to discuss flood risks at an open house.
FEMA will also present preliminary versions of updated flood maps.
Once the new maps become effective, some people may have to buy flood insurance for their properties.
FEMA says Tuesday's open house should be of interest to those living near flood hazards, as well as to realtors, lenders and insurance agents.
The open house runs from 4:00 to 7:00 Tuesday at Ottawa County's Fillmore Street Complex in West Olive in the main conference room.
