Water main break closes roads

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A water main broke on West Michigan Avenue in Battle Creek Friday morning.
The leaking pipe caused W. Michigan Ave. to be shut down between Carlisle and Division as well as parts of Capital between State and Jackson.
Authorities say that repairs will take several hours at least. They plan on assessing the damage fully before giving a more precise estimate.
It isn't yet known how the repairs will affect Battle Creek Central's Homecoming Parade, which is scheduled for Friday. City staff are coordinating with the school.
