Two dead, one critical after Kalamazoo Co. crash
Comments 0 | Recommend 0ALAMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office is reporting an accident which killed two and left another in critical condition.
The crash occurred Tuesday night, around 6:48 at the intersection of Ravine Road and B Avenue.
Officers say that 83-year-old Robert and 82-year-old Betty Laws were traveling eastbound on west B Avenue when Robert failed to stop for the stop sign on Ravine Road, striking a pickup truck driven by 31-year-old Eric Fenstermaker.
The collision caused both vehicles to roll over. Fenstermaker, who was wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from his truck after it struck a tree. Fenstermaker was transported to Bronson Hospital and admitted with life-threatening injuries.
Officers say that neither Robert nor Betty Laws were wearing seatbelts. Robert was pronounced dead at the scene, Betty was transported to Borgess Hospital where she died from injuries received in the crash.
Police say that alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
