ROTHBURY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Days before the Rothbury Music Festival the sale of the Double JJ Ranch goes through.

The resort filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection shortly after last year's festival.

Progressive Resorts put in a bid for the property and the deal was finalized Tuesday.

The company says it hopes to restore full operations at the ranch in the next few weeks and re-hire hundreds of employees.

Meanwhile, the Rothbury Music Festival kicks off on the Double JJ grounds Thursday.

Organizers expect more than 30,000 people to check out a packed schedule of concerts through the Fourth of July weekend.
