VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A concerned citizen called 911 after they observed a driver traveling at very slow speeds who was driving into yards and swerving.
It happened on 30th Street near M-43 in Van Buren County on Thursday.
Deputies quickly located the vehicle and began following. The driver accelerated away, reaching speeds near 90 mph.
When the 17-year-old man from Lawton finally stopped police say they could smell a strong oder of marijuana and alcohol coming from the vehicle.
The driver was arrested for suspected drunk driving. While searching the car police found a substantial amount of drugs, an open container of alcohol and money.
The driver was taken to the Van Buren County Jail. He faces numerous charges. Police say that the seized 76 grams of suspected marijuana and $272 in cash.
