Allegan County Fair begins

ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - It's fair time in Allegan County. The 156th annual Allegan County Fair kicks off Friday.

This year organizers say they are offering some ride discounts since times are hard. New this year the fair is offering a 'Mega-Pass' for $60 that lets you ride all the rides everyday that the fair is open. The fair will also be offering a 'pay-one-price' deal that will allow fair-goers to pay $20 for a wristband to get on all the rides for an entire day.

For entertainment, the fair will have Daughtry, Rodney Atkins, Jeremy Camp, and for the kids The Doodlebops will all perform.

"We love to bring in the big names and that's what the people here enjoy. They support the shows very well. The entertainers like coming to West Michigan. They love our fair and the reaction they get from the crowds.

The fair will run through September 16th.
