Fatal crash

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Battle Creek Police Department is reporting a fatal accident at M-37 and Swedish Drive.

 

Officers were dispatched to an accident where a lone male was trapped in a vehicle. Police say the accident appeared to be a single car accident. The driver appears to have lost control and slid off the road, striking a tree and becoming trapped in the vehicle.

 

Upon arrival, officers noticed the the subject was breathing but unresponsive. The dire department was able to use the jaws of life to free the subject from the vehicle while paramedics worked on him.

 

The victim was transferred to Battle Creek Health System for treatment, where he later died.

 

The victim was a 39-year-old white male. The accident remains under investigation.
