One man shot during a gambling fight
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A night of gambling ends with one man shot.
Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers were called to a fight and possible shooting in the 1300 block of Sherwood Ave. around 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
When officers arrived they found a large group of people but no one would say anything about a shooting.
A witness told police that the group had been gambling when a fight broke out and a shot was fired.
The witness did not know who pulled the trigger, or who was shot.
Thirty minutes later officials at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo notified officers that a gun shot victim had been brought in with a non life-threatening wound to the leg.
The 20-year-old gunshot victim was uncooperative with police and would not tell them who shot him or what led to the shooting.
Anyone who may have witnessed the shooting is asked to call Public Safety at (269) 337-8994 or Silent Observer at (269) 343-2100.
