Cyclist Hit and Killed
GRAND RAPIDS , Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A bicyclist dies in the hospital after being hit by a car.
The Grand Rapids Police Department says it happened around 3a.m. Sunday morning on Cherry Street near the entrance to southbound U.S. 131.
Police say Brad Robertson, 22, of Grand Rapids was riding his bike in the crosswalk alongside north Cherry Street when he was hit by a southbound Honda Civic driven by a 32-year-old Wyoming man.
The driver of the Honda claims he didn't see the bicyclist. Police say the driver had a blinking yellow light.
Robertson was taken to the hospital with critical injuries where he later died. He was not wearing a helmet. The driver of the Honda was not injured.
Police are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in this crash.
