Hit & run leaves woman in critical condition

SPRINGFIELD, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A 50-year-old woman is in critical condition after being hit by a car Saturday night.

It happened around 7 p.m. on W. Dickman Road near Brookside Apartments in Springfield.

Police said the car struck the woman and then drove off. Evidence left at the scene helped police identify the vehicle and they were able to located the car at Brookside Apartments. A woman was taken into custody and is lodged at the Calhoun County Jail.

The victim was transported by Life Care to Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo and is in critical condition.

Charges are pending on the return of the suspects blood results and the status of the victim who was hit.
