Troubled nursing home may be sold
ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - We continue to follow developments surrounding an Allegan County nursing home investigation.
A new owner could soon take the helm at Metron of Allegan.
The Michigan Department of Community Health confirms it is agreed upon in principle to allow a sale.
Advantage Management will immediately take over once all the parties agree and paperwork is filed.
The move will keep the facility open despite serious violations under the current ownership.
Even with the change in ownership the Attorney General Mike Cox plans to continue his investigation.
Metron received 11 citations and they include some serious violations. Investigators say two involve patients dying when the home did not provide the oxygen prescribed to them.
