A K'zoo Man is Dead, Another in the Hospital After A 1 Vehicle Accident

GENEVA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - One man is dead and another is in the hospital after a driver lost control of his vehicle.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Paw Paw Post say it happened around 2a.m. Saturday on 68th Street.

Jaamal Bruton, 29, of Kalamazoo was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a 21-year-old Covert man, suffered serious injuries.

Troopers say Bruton was heading south on 68th St. when he failed to stop at a "T" intersection. The 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe then ran off the road and struck and embankment.

Troopers believe alcohol played a key factor in this accident. Plus, neither guys were wearing their seat belt.

Anyone one with more information is asked to call MSP Paw Paw at 269-657-5551.
