Jeff Varner

Jeff Varner joined the NEWSCHANNEL 3 team in June of 2007 as a morning news anchor, teamed with Holly Doyle. Jeff was most recently a weekend news anchor at WGHP-TV in High Point, NC. In 2005, he was honored by the Associated Press with a Broadcast News "Rookie of the Year" award.Jeff earned a BA in Journalism at North Carolina and has worked as an entertainment reporter for KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, and as a correspondent for TV Guide and E! news Live.

Jeff says he's challenged by the opportunity journalism offers to make a difference for people in the world. "We need all the help we can get," says Varner, "I want to be part of that team people trust to provide the information that'll help them go about their day safely and productively."

Jeff played hockey growing up, and appreciates what Michigan has to offer all year round. "I'm struck by the state's beauty, and I come from one of the most beautiful states in the US. I can't get over how kind and helpful people are here." "I'm excited to call West Michigan home and I'm anxious to learn about and see as much of it as I can. I want people to feel free to write, call, or pull me out of a crowd to say hi!"
