Jessica Wheeler
Recommend 0Jessica Wheeler joined Newschannel 3 in October of 2009.
She came here from our sister station in Lansing, WLAJ, where she spent a year and a half as the weeknight news anchor.
While in Lansing Jessica volunteered for the Capitol Area Speech and Debate League, helping junior high students build their public speaking skills. She also spent 4 years in the suburbs of Chicago as a high school speech coach and directing plays for competition.
Prior to moving to Michigan, Jessica was a weekend news anchor, weather forecaster and reporter in Peoria, Illinois. While in Central Illinois Jessica helped bring awareness to a high number of teen driving deaths in the area by producing a series of public service announcements with the help of those who lost loves ones. The campaign earned Jessica an Illinois Broadcasters Association award for community service along with other public service awards.
Jessica also spent 2 years in Idaho Falls, Idaho as a morning and noon anchor and weather forecaster.
Jessica grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago and is happy to be just around the lake from her family and friends.
She and her husband, Nick, live in Kalamazoo and are looking forward to exploring their new home.
