4 Year Old Struck by Car

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says that a 4-year-old girl was hit by a car Friday night.

The girl darted out between cars in the 800 block of Clinton Street and Kalamazoo and was struck by a vehicle driven by a female.

The girl suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but her leg was broken in the accident.

The driver of the vehicle is not at fault because she couldn't avoid the accident. However, she was driving with a suspended license. She was arrested for driving with a suspended license, interfering with a police officer, and on an unrelated bench warrant.

Police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash. But they are asking anyone who witnessed this accident to contact Kalamazoo Public Safety at 337-8994.
