Russian fest in Kalamazoo kicks of week of events
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) - The 14th Annual Russian Festival is kicking off a week of events in Kalamazoo.
Musical performances start Saturday and events continue during the week. The festival itself is Nov. 21 at Western Michigan University's Fetzer Center and features art, music, food, dancing and chess playing.
The festival's main sponsor is the Kalamazoo-Pushkin Partnership. It formed in 1992 to help promote relationships between Kalamazoo and its Russian sister city and encourage cultural exploration.
