Kalamazoo Co. using new tool to expedite voting process

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - In Kalamazoo County polling places have a new tool to get voters in and out more quickly.

They're called E-Poll Books.

The computers replace the stacks of papers election workers used to have to go through to retrieve your information.

Now you just scan your drivers license and all your information pops up, making the process a lot faster for voters.

"It should really make it quicker for them, we can identify them right away because the drivers license. It makes it very easy,” said precinct chairwoman Michelle Straube.

In the spring two Kalamazoo precincts tested out the E-Poll Books. It was so successful that the entire county now uses them.
