Kalamazoo museum reopens interactive kids gallery

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) - The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts has reopened its Upjohn Mason Grandchildren Interactive Gallery.

The gallery for children was closed this summer during construction of the museum's new Joy Light Gallery of Asian Art.

The recently reopened gallery includes a series of stations for children. They can pick up a scavenger hunt bag for a trip through the galleries, assemble a giant magnetic wall puzzle and read art-related books.

There's also an area to color using a light table, paint digitally on computers and draw using easels.

Admission is free during regular museum hours. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
