Lake Michigan Drive reopened after gas main leak

ALLENDALE, Mich. (Newschannel 3) - A section of Lake Michigan Drive in Allendale has reopened after a gas main leak there has been capped.

 

The leak happened around 4:15 p.m. near Lake Michigan Drive and 64th Street. 

 

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Department told Newschannel 3 that a construction crew hit the gas main, causing the closure. No evacuations in the surrounding area were necessary.

 

The eastbound lanes of Lake Michigan Drive were closed down at 64th Street for about two hours
