Local flu clinics
Comments 0 | Recommend 0WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - We're headed into flu season and health care professionals say it's more important than ever to get vaccinated.
Tuesday there are a couple of clinics where you can get help.
In Kalamazoo County the health department only has a limited supply of seasonal flu shots. It's limiting vaccinations right now to people 18-years-old or younger who are uninsured or on Medicaid.
Tuesday's clinic is from 3:00 to 7:00 at Portage Central Middle School. There's another clinic Wednesday at Climax-Scotts High School.
If you don't have a lot of extra time, Muskegon County's Health Department is offering a drive-up flu clinic. You can just roll up in your car, roll down the window, roll up your sleeve and get a shot and be on your way.
The clinic runs from 5:30 to 7:00 Tuesday night at Terrace Plaza downtown. It costs 27 dollars for the shot.
Health officials are also encouraging a separate H1N1 vaccination for everyone this fall. The first shipments have arrived in both Ottawa and Muskegon Counties. Kalamazoo and Kent Counties are still waiting for their shipments.
