Search continues for man accused of assaulting officer

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – The search continues in Battle Creek for one of two men accused of assaulting a police officer on Monday night.
Police say that Sergio Garcia and Frederic Dimas attacked the officer on Monday as he searched them for weapons and drugs. Police say the two punched the officer in the face and tried to take his gun before running off.
The incident happened near the intersection of Rittenhouse Avenue and Caroline Street.
The officer is fine, but Dimas remains on the loose.
