Officer will face charges for leaving gun in bar

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) – A Grand Rapids Police Officer will face charges for leaving his gun in the bathroom of a bar.
Investigators say Officer John Guerrero left his gun on a garbage can at a bar near the GVSU campus in Allendale.
Someone later picked that gun up and fired it. Fortunately no one was hurt.
On Friday Officer Guerrero was charged with two misdemeanors; reckless use of a firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon with a blood alcohol level.
Officer Guerrero was released on bond and is still on administrative leave from the Grand Rapids Police Department.
