Charges dropped against man who burned down his home
BRANCH COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – The Branch County man who burned down his old, vacant home has had charges against him dropped.
Leroy Myers paid $750 to the Bronson Fire Department. That money went toward labor and equipment used to fight the fire on June 2nd on Babcock Road.
Myers owned the home that burned, but didn't live in it. He admitted he wanted to get rid of the structure to make room for new farm land.
Had the deal not worked out, Myers could have faced up to ten years in jail on a felony charge.
