Car hits tree head-on, 3 injured

PINE GROVE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Police in Allegan County say that three people were taken to the hospital after their car hit a tree Thursday.

It happened around 5:00 Thursday afternoon. Police say that a 16-year-old girl from Gobles was traveling westbound on 29^th Street when she went around a curve too fast. She lost control of her vehicle in the slippery conditions and struck a tree head-on.

A 21-year-old man from Gobles and a 22-year-old man from Grand Rapids were also injured in the crash.

All three of the vehicle's occupants were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police say that speed was a factor in the crash, but alcohol was not. The driver was cited for careless driving.
