56-year-old dies in head-on crash

KENT COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – A 56-year-old Rockford woman has died after a head-on collision Wednesday.

The Kent County Sheriff's Office says that a 16-year-old male from Rockford was driving west on Cannonsburg Road near Chauncey Avenue Wednesday morning when he collided head-on with a vehicle being driven by 56-year-old Jari Morris of Rockford.

Officials say Morris was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The 16-year-old driver was transported to Butterworth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation is underway to determine who was responsible for the crash.
