MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Michigan's new medical marijuana law goes into effect Thursday, but it will be some time before sick people can benefit from it.
The Michigan Department of Community Health now has four months to establish the rules for the program. Lawmakers will then look them over and there will be a public hearing as well.
There are already some preliminary rules in place and the state hopes to have a Web site up and running in the next few weeks where you can review them.
The first day that people can start legally using medical marijuana is April 4th.
