Storm moves through West Michigan, leaving damage in its wake

WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The weather has closed down some roads in Holland.

Flooding forced police to close three roads in the city, including the highway.

US-31 between Washington and 32nd, M-40 at Waverly and South Shore at Goldenrod were all closed. Detours are posted. Police ask that you avoid the water and not try to drive through it.

It is a similar story in Kalamazoo County as firefighters closed off Kings Highway at River in Comstock.

There's also flooding near downtown Kalamazoo.

The storms knocked out power to some Consumers Energy customers. We talked to the power company Friday morning. Here's a look at where the outages are:

Kalamazoo - 15,400

Van Buren - 7,000

Allegan - 8,000

Calhoun - 2200

Ottawa - 900

Kent - 2700

In all there are more than 46,000 Consumers Energy customers in the dark Friday morning.

If you have any photos of the storm or storm damage, you can share them here.
