$5 million lawsuit for knocked out teeth
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A teenager who was slammed into a wall at the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety has filed a $5 million lawsuit.
The suit is against the department and Officer Derek Nugent, who rammed the boy's face into a wall.
The incident knocked out the boy's front teeth.
Officer Nugent was suspended for 10 days without pay.
The teen's attorney, Arnold Reed, says he will hold a press conference at 3:00 on Monday afternoon in Portage to reveal more details of the suit.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety tells us it has no comment until it's had a chance to review the lawsuit.
