MONROE, Mich. (AP) - The five-year-old described by one of her mourners as "Monroe's little angel" has been laid to rest.

Nevaeh (neh-VAY'-eh) Buchanan was buried at St. Joseph Cemetery this afternoon, nine days after her body was found in a shallow grave along the River Raisin. She disappeared May 24 from her apartment complex in Monroe, 35 miles south of Detroit.

Some 700 people attended the funeral service at Stewart Road Church of God. Motorcycle police led a procession that included a Harley-Davidson drawing the hearse carrying Nevaeh's body.

After two ministers spoke at her gravesite, a white dove was released into the gray sky.

Investigators have received at least 1,200 tips about Nevaeh's disappearance, but no arrests have been made.
