Woman's disappearance inspires new tracking system
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A Calhoun County woman's disappearance has inspired a new state-wide tracking system.
Mary Lands vanished nearly five years ago.
Her family has stayed on top of the case all those years, pushing police to dig deeper.
Late last year the state Attorney General's office agreed to join the investigation.
Friday, a group will launch a program in Lands's honor.
It's called Track Missing and will provide a support network and resources for Michigan families and law enforcement in missing persons cases.
The program will also offer education for domestic violence prevention.
