PARCHMENT, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A little girl who was born with only half a heart is getting a new lease on life.

Little Lindsay Dean is not even a year old and has already gone through several surgeries.

She was put on a transplant list back in November because her heart was so weak.

Overnight Thursday a new heart became available.

Doctors got to work at 3 o'clock Friday morning and her family is updating progress through a blog. Just before 5 o'clock, they wrote that the heart is in and beating.

At 6 o'clock a new update said doctors had controlled bleeding and that Lindsay is off bypass.
