Fatal crash in Newaygo Co.

NEWAYGO COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Troopers from the Michigan State Police are investigating a fatal accident involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck.

Troopers say the crash occurred around 2:00 pm Sunday on M-37 north of 68th Street. The 52-year-old female driver of the motorcycle was killed in the crash. The 19-year-old male driver of the pickup and his passenger were uninjured.

Police say that preliminary investigation of the accident showed that the pickup was traveling southbound on M-37 and was attempting to avoid colliding with another vehicle when it crossed the center line of M-37 and collided with the northbound motorcycle.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
