Four People Injured in a 2 Car Accident

OTTAWA, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Four people are in the hospital after a driver fails to stop at a stop sign.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Department says it happened around 3p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Cleveland at 40th Street in Wright Township.

Joel Creager, 16, of Conklin, blew through the intersection and hit a Mercury Sable. It caused both vehicles to flip over several times. Creakers Ford Ranger caught on fire and a passerby was able to pull him out of the vehicle. He was taken to the hospital for multiple injuries where he's now listed in serious condition.

The driver of the Sable, Jerri Price of Rockford, was pinned inside his vehicle. He needed to be pried out by a rescue team. Price and his two passengers were taken to the hospital for their injuries.Price suffered multiple injuries but his condition is unknown. Her front seat passenger, Jack Price of Rockford, suffered multiple injuries and is listed in stable condition. The back seat passenger Susan Heft, of Grant is listed in serious injuries.

The road was closed for about one hour as crews worked to clear the scene.

Everyone involved was wearing their seat belt.
